uSIM 2018 - Urban Energy Simulation focuses on the evolution of building simulation tools and their application to larger scale energy systems - beyond the building. These include community energy schemes, building stocks, district heating, smart grids and multi-vector energy networks. Applying building simulation to these wider energy systems brings its own unique set of challenges in areas ranging from data acquisition for multiple buildings to software developments to accommodate external energy grids. uSIM will bring together experts from academia and industry to explore the key challenges and to progress the state-of-the-art in knowledge and capabilities.
uSIM is supported by IBPSA Scotland, the Energy Technologies Partnership (ETP) and IES Ltd. The conference is being organised by the Energy Systems Research Unit (ESRU).
Climate-Fit partners from Meteotest and Energieplanung GmbH will present the project at the conference.
